Processed foods are convenient considering today’s fast-paced life. Time to put up a proper meal is a luxury for most of us. However, these foods add toxins to the body, causing the kidney and liver to overwork as they try to filter them out of the body. Also, these foods are associated with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases, and cancer. They are also the number one cause of obesity.

Give your diet an overhaul by:

  • Reducing the intake of processed foods
  • Limiting intake of sugar and salt
  • Increasing antioxidant-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables, berries, nuts, coffee, and green tea among others
  • Increasing foods high in prebiotics such as asparagus, garlic, onion, artichokes, and tomatoes among others

  1.     Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep is another struggle most people deal with. However, it is a necessity for overall well-being. Sleep helps the body in the natural detoxification process. When you are sleeping, the body removes toxins that have accumulated throughout the day. Besides, it gives the brain a rest and a chance to reorganize and recharge.

Depriving your body of sleep denies the body a chance to complete these processes, leading to adverse effects on your health.
