So this deodorant comes in a jar? How do you apply it?
PiperWai is a thick paste-like cream consistency that you rub in with your hands. It rubs in clear and melts into your skin with a soft, velvety finish. Just a pea-sized amount under each arm is all you need! Some of our customers use a cosmetic spatula, popsicle stick, or spoon to get the right amount out of the jar, but we promise using your fingers is no biggie.
What does PiperWai smell like? Is it OK for men, women, and kids?
PiperWai has a light, gender-neutral, spa-fresh scent. It’s a bit minty, a bit citrusy, and not overwhelming. It’s truly a one-scent-fits-all! Since PiperWai neutralizes odor, the scent will dissipate throughout the day so you smell like nothing at all.
Is PiperWai cruelty free and vegan? What about gluten free?
Yes, yes, and yes!
Where is PiperWai made?
PiperWai will always be made in the USA!
Is PiperWai ok for sensitive skin or people sensitive to baking soda deodorants?
Yes! PiperWai was specifically formulated for sensitive skin when co-founder, Jess, experienced itchy red rashes caused by most other deodorants that she tried. Many people with sensitivities to other antiperspirants and baking soda-heavy deodorants tolerate PiperWai just fine. The baking soda content in PiperWai is at the threshold of effectiveness without causing irritation to the vast majority of people. If you experience an allergic reaction, please see below for our refund policy.
Is PiperWai safe for pregnant/breastfeeding women?
Lots of pregnant and breastfeeding women choose PiperWai over antiperspirant because of its clean ingredients and low percentage of essential oils. Each essential oil is diluted up to 0.1% and the entire essential oil blend makes up less than 1% of the overall formula, falling far below the <2% safe range. However, we understand that what you choose to use on your body during pregnancy or breastfeeding is a very personal decision that should be run by your doctor.
My current order looks different than my previous order! What's up?
Though we sometimes update and improve our packaging from time to time, the actual formula and net weight of the product hasn't changed. Due to the delicate nature of using all natural ingredients, the appearance of the product from one jar to the next might differ slightly. This will not affect the effectiveness of the deodorant. If you have any questions about your specific order, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I left the lid open and my jar dried out. What do I do?
A tiny drop of witch hazel in the jar will restore the creamy texture while maintaining effectiveness. If you don't have any witch hazel handy, quickly running your finger under water after scooping out your desired amount will make for smoother application. Caution: adding plain water directly to the jar may reduce shelf life.
Can I microwave my deodorant?
No. Please do not. It won't be good.
Can I put it in the fridge?
If your deodorant is not solid enough, you can put it in the fridge but ONLY for 30 minutes or less.FOR MORE FAQ’S, CLICK HERE
Ever wonder why you stink?
You have two different kinds of sweat glands on different parts of your body – the eccrine glands and the apocrine glands. Eccrine produce sweat with simply water and salt to cool your body, while apocrine glands secrete what’s known as “stress sweat”. Apocrine glands are on your feet, groin, and armpits, and they secrete sweat with an added protein molecule attached to it that the eccrine glands all over the rest of your body don’t have. Your sweat itself is actually odorless, but it starts to stink when the naturally occurring bacteria under your arms eats away at that protein! Your body produces more of this type of sweat when you eat certain foods or when you’re stressed, which is why stress sweat is the most offensive kind – that is, if you wear any other type of deodorant besides PiperWai!
PiperWai creates a pH balanced environment under your arms where that stinky bacteria cannot thrive, so your sweat remains odorless. It works so well because it actually neutralizes the odor instead of just covering it up!
Let’s talk about activated charcoal!
We use the same kind of medicinal grade activated charcoal you can take internally for gastrointestinal upset. Activated charcoal is SUPER absorbent – it absorbs odor, moisture, and toxins! This helps most people transition seamlessly from their clinical strength antiperspirant to PiperWai. No detox period necessary.
Of course, every body is different. But then again, so is PiperWai.
Why PiperWai? Because it works, naturally.
