This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit, use, or make a purchase from www.piperwai.com (the "Services"). PiperWai Natural Deodorant is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

By using or accessing the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.

Personal information we collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we also collect information about the pages or products you view, what website or search terms referred you to the Site, and how you interact with the Site. We refer to this as "Device Information."

We collect Device Information using the following technologies and services:

• "Log files" track actions on the Site and collect your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring or exit pages, and date and time stamps.
• "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record how you browse the Site.
• Klaviyo, our email and SMS marketing platform, used to send newsletters, promotions, and order related messages.
• TikTok conversion tracking, which measures the effectiveness of our advertising on TikTok.
• Reddit Pixel, which measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Reddit.
• OpenAI's ChatGPT Ads Pixel, which measures the effectiveness of our advertising shown in ChatGPT.
• PayPal, which processes payments and manages transactions.
• Microsoft Advertising, which measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Microsoft's platforms.
• Meta ads conversion tracking (Meta Pixel), which measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Meta's platforms.
• Google Tag Manager, which manages and deploys marketing tags on our website.
• YouTube video widget, used to display videos on our website.
• Microsoft Clarity, which records and replays how visitors interact with our website, including clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement, for the purpose of understanding and improving the Site.
• WhatsApp Business Chat widget, used to provide customer support and communication, and which may retain a record of your chat messages.
• Gorgias, our customer support platform, used to manage support conversations across chat, email, and SMS, including through its AI Agent feature, and which may retain a record of your messages.
  Google Analytics 4, used to collect data about website usage and user behavior.
• Contact form, which collects your name, email, and any other information you provide.
• Direct registration, which collects your name, email, and, for accounts using the legacy sign in, password when you create an account.
• Mailing list or newsletter, which collects your email when you opt in to updates, sent through Klaviyo.
• VWO tools, used for A/B testing and to understand user interactions and preferences.

We only set non essential cookies and enable non essential tools, including Microsoft Clarity's session recording and the WhatsApp Business Chat widget's message logging, with your consent in regions where consent is required. Through our cookie banner, you may choose which categories of cookies and tools you allow and withdraw consent at any time. Necessary cookies that ensure the Site functions, such as secure checkout, cannot be disabled.

Our domain name is registered through GoDaddy. GoDaddy does not host our website or process Site visitor data as part of that registration. Our store is hosted on Shopify, described below.

When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we also collect your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Amazon Pay accounts, and PayPal accounts), email address, and phone number. We refer to this as "Order Information."

We also collect account information, such as your username, password, security questions, preferences and settings, and communications you send us, such as customer support inquiries.

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we mean Device Information, Order Information, and any other personal information described in this section.

We also operate a separate landing page for Myro customers that does not collect payment or enable purchases. If you enter your email there to be notified about Myro, your name and email are collected through Airtable forms and used solely to provide product updates and marketing communications about PiperWai and Myro. Airtable processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Personal information sources

We may collect personal information directly from you, such as when you create an account, place an order, or contact us; automatically through the Services and the technologies listed above; from our service providers, when we engage them to enable certain technology and they collect or process personal information on our behalf; and from our partners or other third parties.

How we use your personal information

We use Order Information generally to fulfill orders placed through the Site, including processing payment, arranging shipping, and providing invoices and order confirmations. We also use Order Information to:

• Communicate with you
• Screen orders for potential risk or fraud
• Provide information or advertising about our products or services, in line with the preferences you have shared
• Process your auto renewal orders if you are part of our subscribe and save program, managed through Stay.ai

We use Device Information to help screen for risk and fraud, particularly your IP address, and more generally to improve and optimize the Site, for example by generating analytics about how customers browse and interact with the Site and assessing the success of marketing and advertising campaigns through services like Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and TikTok, Reddit, OpenAI's ChatGPT Ads, Meta, and Microsoft Advertising conversion tracking.

We also use your personal information to authenticate your account, provide a secure payment and shopping experience, detect and investigate possible fraudulent or unsafe activity, provide customer support, maintain our business relationship with you, and to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.

We rely on contractual necessity to process order data, legitimate interests to prevent fraud and maintain our website, and your consent for marketing cookies, analytics cookies, session recording, and chat message logging.

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use it as described above.

We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, including personalized advertising. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information for these purposes. Mobile Information Sharing. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, including mobile phone numbers, with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes.

Your information may be shared with service providers, such as messaging platforms and email service providers, solely to deliver communications from PiperWai. We may also share your Personal Information with our affiliates, in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request, or to otherwise protect our rights.

State by state privacy rights

Because we sell nationwide, this section applies to residents of any U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law, rather than repeating the same rights state by state.

As of the date of this policy, that includes residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

Depending on your state, you generally have the right to:

• Confirm and access whether we process your personal data, and access that data
• Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
• Delete personal data we have collected
• Port your data in a portable, machine readable format
• Opt out of the sale of your personal data, targeted advertising, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects

If you visit our website with the Global Privacy Control opt out preference signal enabled, depending on where you are, we will automatically treat this as a request to opt out for the device and browser you use to visit the website. If we are able to associate the device sending the signal with a Shopify account, we will apply the opt out request to the account as well. Florida residents: the Florida Digital Bill of Rights applies primarily to larger businesses, but we honor access, deletion, portability, and opt out requests from Florida residents as a matter of practice.

Contact form, newsletter, and support widgets

Contact form and direct registration. When you fill out a contact form or register on our site, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, and anything else you choose to share. We use it to respond to inquiries, provide support, and send communications about our products and services.

Mailing list or newsletter. If you sign up for our mailing list or newsletter, we collect your email and may also collect your name and preferences, through Klaviyo, to send product updates, promotions, and marketing communications.

WhatsApp Business Chat widget. If you use this widget on our site, we collect the content of your messages and information about your interaction with the widget to provide customer support. We enable this widget, and retain chat message content, only with your consent where consent is required.

Gorgias. We use Gorgias to manage customer support conversations across chat, email, and SMS, including automated responses from its AI Agent feature. Gorgias may retain a record of your messages and order information to provide support.

Microsoft Clarity session recording. With your consent where consent is required, we use Microsoft Clarity to record your clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement on the Site so we can understand and improve how visitors use it. Clarity does not record information you type into payment fields.

Google Analytics 4. We use GA4 to understand how users interact with our site, improve it, and provide better service. We ask for your consent through our cookie banner before enabling analytics cookies in jurisdictions where consent is required.

Children's data

The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below to request that it be deleted. As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share, as those terms are defined under applicable law, the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

Data retention and security

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The exact retention period varies depending on the nature of our interactions with you.

When you place an order, we maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete it. Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides the online e-commerce platform we use to sell to you. Your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases, and application, behind a firewall.

No security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee perfect security. Any information you send us may not be secure while in transit, so we recommend against using unsecured channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.

Mobile Terms of Service

The PiperWai mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by PiperWai. Using the Service means you agree to these Mobile Terms, which we may modify at any time. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

By consenting to PiperWai's SMS and text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS and text messages from PiperWai through your wireless provider, even if your number is on a state or federal Do Not Call list. Messages may be sent using automatic dialing technology. Service related messages may include order updates and account alerts. Promotional messages may include offers and cart reminders.

You do not have to join this program to make a purchase, and consent is not a condition of purchase. Participation is voluntary. We do not charge for the Service, but message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

If you are a UK or European resident, and subject to the exceptions and limitations provided by local law, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted; to object to or ask us to restrict our processing of your personal information for certain purposes; and, where we rely on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. We process your information to fulfill contracts with you, such as an order through the Site, or to pursue the legitimate business interests described in this Privacy Policy.

Your information may be transferred outside Europe, including to Canada and the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent contracts issued by the relevant competent authority of the UK, unless the transfer is to a country determined to provide an adequate level of protection.
